YouTuber Drift0r Reveals New Details on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and the ‘Black Ops Pass’

In a video update featuring game footage from the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 title, Brad ‘Drift0r’ Overbey tackled new details surrounding the game including the ‘Black Ops Pass.’

The new ‘Black Ops Pass’ is essentially a DLC season pass that is available to players as an additional purchase outside of the base game, but comes with the deluxe and pro editions.

“Black Ops Pass basically the season pass, nothing special about that. Except you cannot buy individual DLC maps, not for Zombies or for multiplayer, so if you just wanted to buy DLC 1 and not the rest or just one Zombies map and not the rest that option has been removed from you.”

According to Drift0r Activision does plan to release more free DLC for Black Ops 4 than any previous Call of Duty including free specialist among other content.

“Black Ops 4 is planned to have more free multiplayer content than any other Call of Duty game ever released. It’s going to include free specialist, more free events planned for this game, kinda like the events in World War II; and during these events, DLC maps will be free to play for all players if they have a season pass or not.”

The new pass does note that content is “not final” and “may not include all downloadable content available for the game.”

Fans will want to know that they will no longer have the option to purchase content in separate drops like in previous titles.

It is also important to remember that to get all the DLC users will want to preorder the digital copy of the game on PlayStation.

For fans that do not have the pass, they will still have access to the DLC maps during community events throughout the game.

Activision has planned more community events for BO4 than any previous title so most players should have the opportunity to try the extra maps before purchasing the pass.

The change in the DLC format comes as a result of content fragmenting player base in past games.

As more information surrounding BO4 arises, we’ll have updates for you.
