In a stunning turn of events, Tainted Minds has pulled off a shocking upset victory over OpTic Gaming in Division B of the CWL Pro League Stage 2.

The Australian based CoD team came into their match against the North American giants on July 11th as heavy underdogs, having lost every single one of their nine Pro League matches up to that point.

There were warning signs right from the start of the match, as Tainted Minds took the first Hardpoint on Gibraltar to put themselves up 1-0.

After OpTic's victory in the subsequent S&D tied up the series, the Australians produced a miracle in the Game 3 CTF,  capturing five flags in three minutes in the second half of play to come back from a 1-5 deficit and win 6-5.

The Game 4 Hardpoint on London Docks was not close, as an angry OpTic squad asserted themselves to win 250-49.

However, Tainted Minds were able to hang around much closer in the Game 5 S&D on Sainte Marie Du Mont, and managed to get things to a Round 11, which they clutched up to win and secure the 3-2 series victory.

While the now 1-9 Tainted Minds are nowhere close to competing for a Playoff spot in Division B, this victory will be huge for their morale and confidence, especially for a team that had to go through qualifiers to even play in the Pro League.

On the flip side, although they are heavy favorites to qualify for the Playoffs, OpTic will rue losing to a winless team. At 6-3, they now sit a full game behind Rise Nation for the top seed, and this loss could ultimately prove to be the difference.
