When is CDL Florida? Schedule, teams, more

After winning the first online event of the Call of Duty League, Florida Mutineers are back and will be hosting the next CDL event of the season.

After failing to defend their home series event, Dallas Empire redeemed themselves during CDL Chicago after breezing past both Huntsmen and FaZe in the playoffs.

But with Empire sitting out of the next event, Mutineers will be joined by RØKKR, Legion and Ultra, who will each be gunning for that top spot and those all-important CDL Points. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of CDL Florida.

When is CDL Florida?

CDL Florida will take place between May 8-10, marking an exact mid-way point for the season. Given that the league has moved to online tournaments for the foreseeable future, the schedule will now pan across three days rather than two.

As with the previous event, the first team from each group to bag themselves two wins will head straight to the semifinals on May 10. These will be followed by teams who manage to scrape through with two wins and one loss.

Will Florida Mutineers be able to fend off the likes of RØKKR and FaZe to win back-to-back events?

All eight teams have been split into two groups. Two from each group will make it to the single-elimination bracket, while two will suffer an early exit on Saturday. Here’s how both groups weigh up.

Group A

  • Toronto Ultra
  • New York Subliners
  • Minnesota RØKKR
  • Florida Mutineers

Group B

  • Paris Legion
  • Atlanta FaZe
  • London Royal Ravens
  • OpTic Gaming Los Angeles

In Group A, Toronto Ultra find themselves pitted against the New York Subliners in their opener, who seemed to have turned their woeful form around during CDL Chicago, after defeating the hosts and taking FaZe right to the wire. Meanwhile, Mutineers have a tall order in their opening match, as RØKKR will be looking to redeem their Grand Final loss and spoil the host’s party.

On the flip side of the bracket in Group B, Legion will be looking to get back into the swing of things and give Atlanta Faze a run for their money. The Brits will be looking to find their form from the start of the season, as they lock horns with OGLA in the other Group B clash.

Here are the CDL points that are up for grabs this weekend. With the reigning champs out of the picture, can FaZe get redemption and climb to the top of the CDL standings? Or will Florida Mutineers find themselves crushing FaZe’s dreams once more?

  • 1st Place – 50 CDL Points
  • 2nd Place – 30 CDL Points
  • 3rd/4th Place – 20 CDL Points
  • 5th/6th Place – 10 CDL Points
  • 7th/8th Place – 0 CDL Points
