Only four teams remain at the 2018 CWL Championship, as two more were eliminated in round four of the lower bracket.

Championship Sunday kicked off with two headline matches for survival, as eUnited took on Luminosity and FaZe Clan faced Team Envy. When the dust settled, eUnited and FaZe Clan advanced, while Luminosity and Envy were eliminated.

Both matches offered series worthy of this stage in the biggest event of the Call of Duty calendar. eUnited and Luminosity have been two of the most formidable squads of the tournament so far, and they clashed in an intense series that eUnited ultimately won 3-1.

Luminosity started strong, winning the opening Hardpoint, and looked poised to follow up with a Search and Destroy victory, but from 0-4 down eUnited went on a five-round run, before ultimately securing the win in round 11 to tie up the series.

From there, it seemed momentum had very much shifted in eUnited’s favor. They took the lead with a convincing Capture the Flag win, and came up clutch in an incredibly hard-fought London Docks Hardpoint to eliminate Luminosity from the event.

Luminosity goes home with a top-6 finish, meaning that for the first time ever the CWL Championship grand final won’t feature either Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan or Damon ‘Karma’ Barlow.

Meanwhile on the Bravo stream, FaZe and Envy fought about as close a series as could be. FaZe drew first blood with an incredibly close Hardpoint, but Envy hit back with a round-11 win on Sainte Marie du Mont Search and Destroy to tie the series.

Envy then claimed the series lead with a CTF win, but weren’t able to close out the series in another incredibly tight Hardpoint, with FaZe forcing a game five. London Docks SND hosted the final showdown, and after putting up a 5-1 lead Envy had the win at their fingertips. FaZe stayed composed, however, pulling off an incredible come-back to claim the series and eliminate Envy.

eUnited and FaZe Clan both lock in a top-four finish, and will now face each other for a place in the lower bracket final. Whoever survives that match will play the loser of the winner bracket final between Evil Geniuses and Team Kaliber.
