TSM Viss and Dr Disrespect discuss an interesting way to nerf 9-Bangs in Black Ops 4

Since Black Ops 4 released on October 12, 9-Bangs have been a hot topic of discussion in the community as many feel that the item needs some heavy nerfs sooner rather than later.

Many suggestions for nerfs of the 9-Bang center on allowing players greater movement while affected by the item or further decreasing the duration of its stun when used.

Team SoloMid streamer Colton ‘Viss’ Visser has suggested a nerf the item that mainly looks at the UI cues it gives rather than the item itself.

While Viss does agree that the duration should be decreased a bit, the bulk of this suggestion focuses on visual cues players get when using the item.

“You maybe slightly lower the duration, but take away the hit markers from when the people get hit by it,” Viss suggests to Dr DisRespect while playing a game of Blackout. “Because then you don’t know, right? You either have to know that was a good throw or see them with their hand up.”

Despite Dr DisRrespect initially agreeing that this idea was an interesting one that he’d never considered before, he was quick to point out some possible drawbacks.

“Like there might be a lot of times where it’s like ‘The flashbang was right on his face and you’re telling me he wasn’t flashed when I peaked him?” The Doc says about this nerf suggestion.

Overall, though, both streamers seemed to like the idea of this possible nerf despite it having some minor drawbacks.

After explaining the idea, Viss was sure to give credit to the idea’s original owner, saying that fellow TSM streamer Corey ‘Halifx’ Mitton actually told him about it first.

Given the speed at which Treyarch have been updating Black Ops 4 since launch, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see further nerfs such as this one come to 9-Bangs soon.
