A new ‘weapon tuning’ Hotfix has been introduced by Sledgehammer Games which adresses a collection of issues.

Following its release in November of 2017, Call of Duty: WWII soared to the top of the charts by bringing in a staggering $1 billion in sales over the course of mere months.

The highly anticipated return of traditional ‘boots on the ground’ combat generated a massive amount of hype among the community following three years of ‘jetpack’ titles, which was a major selling point for old-school fans.

Sledgehammer Games have continued to provide numerous updates and patches over the course of recent months to ensure the best possible gaming experience, especially in terms of addressing various bugs and glitches.

On May 3rd, a new Hotfix was introduced which made adjustments to weapons such as the ITRA Burst, Bar, Gewehr 43, and more, along with addressing an issue with the ‘Grand Master Prestige Level 1000’ glitch.

The full patch notes can be viewed below.

Call of Duty: WWII Patch Notes – May 3rd

MULTIPLAYER

  • Pushed through a Phase 1 fix for issue where after a Grand Master Prestige Level 1000 player gets a kill, the whole lobby experiences drop in FPS. We will monitor and assess if a Phase 2 fix is required.

WEAPON TUNING

ITRA Burst

  • Burst cool down nerf
  • Very slight fire rate nerf
  • Advanced Rifling attachment nerf (specific to ITRA Burst)
  • Very slight ADS re-center time nerf

The data we gathered since the ITRA Burst’s release has shown that this weapon is out-performing the design intent. The weapon is meant to perform based off the players ability to be accurate with every shot, and be penalized with misses. With the weapon’s current tuning, the data suggests that the weapon’s penalty for missing isn’t great enough, given its power and damage potential. We have worked on testing the above changes for the last week to try and find a good spot that still allows this weapon to thrive and be powerful, while not giving players the room for error that they have been given prior to these changes.

Gewehr 43

  • Fire rate buff

Contrary to the ITRA Burst, the Gewehr 43’s data has led us to conclude that this weapon is too difficult to use in comparison to its damage potential. This change should allow players a strong ability to sling shots rapidly and make better use of the deadly accuracy this weapon provides with a slightly higher damage potential with the increased fire rate.

BAR

  • Slight ADS transition time nerf
  • Slight ADS transition time from sprint nerf

The BAR has seen a resurgence in the META since the Division changes; more specifically, the Infantry Division change that reduces the ADS idle sway. This is a tuning parameter for the BAR, as it effects the weapon’s consistency. The BAR’s damage output is more consistently achievable in shorter ranges. This is due to the weapon’s accuracy being increased when playing with the BAR-Infantry Division combination. Given that, we have determined that slowing down the ADS transition times slightly is the best way to tone down the weapon’s strength so that it falls more in line with the other rifles.

Semi-Automatic Pistols (P-08, M1911, 9MM SAP)

  • Slightly improved accuracy

While the Machine Pistol remains the most used pistol, we are buffing the semi-automatic pistols so that they yield more consistent results when shooting accurately.

As always, we are looking for your feedback and want to make the game as enjoyable as possible. So try out the above weapons with the new changes and let us know what you think!

Thanks,

Sledgehammer Games

Black Ops Cold War weapons & perks changes revealed for Zombies

After revealing Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode back in September, Treyarch has now done a deep dive into all the changes coming to the mode. It seems like, in some regards, it’s going to be a completely different experience this time around.

If you’re excited about Black Ops Cold War’s iteration of Zombies but are hungry for more details, then you’ll be happy to know that Treyarch just delivered.

Thanks to a new blog post, the developer has given fans a deep dive into all the new changes coming to the game. While the developer ended up confirming a number of different features that previously leaked a few days back, they also revealed some wholly new information.

New perks for Zombies

While the developer officially confirmed the six perks that will be available at launch, including the exact statistics they will change, more will be announced when new maps get added to the game, in true Treyarch fashion.

The ones currently implemented, however, are sure to please longtime fans.

  • Jugger-Nog: 50% increase in health
  • Quick Revive: 50% increase in health regen speed
  • Speed Cola: 15% increase in reload speed
  • Stamin-Up: Increase in sprinting speed (percentage unclear)
  • Deadshot Daquri: ADS automatically moves sights to enemy weak spot (aim-assist)
  • Elemental Pop: Every bullet has a chance to apply random Ammo Mod effect

Black Ops Cold War Zombies weapons and scorestreaks

While weapon rarities isn’t new information for Black Ops Cold War Zombies, as it was previously announced by Treyarch during the initial reveal, the developer has finally gone into more detail about what it all means.

Like Warzone, each weapon that you pull from the wall or Mystery Box will be a certain weapon: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. As expected, the higher the weapon rarity, the higher damage it deals and the more attachments it’ll have.

In addition, the mystery box will now contain scorestreaks on top of that, which was easily one of the coolest part of the original reveal trailer.

  • Combat Bow
  • Sentry Turret
  • War Machine
  • Chopper Gunner
  • Self-Revive

Right now, it’s unclear if the only way that players will be able to get their hands on these valuable items will be through the Mystery Box, although previous leaks have indicated that Zombies will also be able to drop them.

Activision
All weapons in Black Ops Cold War, including the ones pulled from Mystery Boxes, have rarities.

New Exfil feature

The final feature that Treyarch revealed new details about was the new Exfil feature, which allows players to end their match before they die. According to the devs, you’ll only be able to do this from Round 10 onwards.

That being said, if you’re able to reach the extraction point within the time allotted, you’ll receive extra XP, as well as some Raw Aetherium Crystals, which can be used to upgrade your weapons.

All of this, combined with all the leaks we know including the armor changes, the upgrade system, and the salvage system, which have now all been confirmed by Treyarch, makes it seem like this year’s iteration is going to be wild.
