The Paris Legion is switching out Call of Duty veteran Johnathan ‘John’ Perez for young talent Giancarlos ‘oJohnny’ Carrasco ahead of the Major 4 Qualifiers this weekend.

The Legion have had a rough go in CDL 2022 with bottom-of-the-table finishes in almost every big event since Kickoff. With only 20 CDL Points to its name, Paris is mixing it up to finish the season with some potential building blocks for the future.

To that end, they’re adding in 18-year-old oJohnny that Legion Head Coach Dylan ‘Theory’ McGee hopes will ‘spark’ new life into the org’s season so far.

Though it’s a longshot to qualify to Major 4 at this point, the fleur-de-lis will be excited to see how the promising CoD player performs in the big leagues.

Paris signs oJohnny to CDL roster

The Paris Legion announced the addition of oJohnny on June 23, just three days before they’re expected to face the Seattle Surge to open their Major 4 Qual campaign.

oJohnny will slot next to Donovan ‘Temp’ Laroda, Thomas ‘GRVTY’ Malin, and Bryan ‘Jimbo’ Sabman while John steps down to the bench for the remainder of the stage.

Meanwhile, coach Theory is ecstatic to see the green talent get some first-hand experience at CDL-level competition at such a young age.

“Happy to have oJohnny on the team going into Major 4 qualifiers!” Theory said. “Hoping my mans energy and passion can give us a spark for the remainder of the season.”

oJohnny expressed his gratitude on making the team, saying: “Glad to be on board with this squad can’t wait to show what we can do.”

The Legion moved on oJohnny after his performances for LAG Enterprises, a Challengers team with CoD World Champ James ‘Clayster’ Eubanks, veteran Tyler ‘FeLo’ Johnson, and new LAG signee Kris ‘Spart’ Cervantez.
