The infamous ‘CodBurner’ is back for the off-season rostermania, and is causing a stir in the community with a number of supposed insider tips on what the upcoming season holds.

However, not everyone is pleased with the information being spread, which is all of course completely unverified.

Previously, they have correctly predicted some roster situations, and other pro players have confirmed that there is certain things that only someone well connected could know.

In a recent Reddit post, the CoDBurner was discussing various potential moves, when someone posed the possibility of OpTic Gaming making a change.

The mysterious account replies that Evil Geniuses’ Bryan “Apathy” Zhelyazkov is being eyed up, and explained who he would replace if the move went through:

methodz. i know scump doesnt want to play w him in bo4. i think methodz only stays if it is 5v5 or if larew’s +1 pisses off the team and org more

He clarified that by “larew’s +1” was referring to his long time girlfriend Berta, who didn’t take kindly to the suggestion, responding on Reddit:

“you really have to learn that that’s not how comp cod works & you really have to learn info before you post it online. it’s literally up to the team & managers, not if the girlfriend gets along with anyone? & i’m friends with the org, i’m a mod in stream chats, like don’t drag me into this to get some attention. you look hella dumb.”

Berta also took to Twitter to accuse the CoDBurner account, in a now deleted tweet:

“this new codburner guy is a fake & has no idea what he’s talking about. damn, i hope to see the real one come back to shut this dude up”

Octane himself later also took to Twitter to clear the speculation.

OpTic Gaming ended the season very poorly, but there is no guarantee that they are considering a roster change at all. Both Seth “Scump” Abner and Ian “Crimsix” Porter will be expected to stay, with newest members Octane and Anthony “Zinni” Methodz perhaps less secure, and more liable to be poached by other teams.

With Black Ops 4 releasing on October 12 – a month earlier than usual – there is less time in the off season for rosters to make up their mind.
