The latest major game update has now gone live in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, introducing a variety of changes to the weapons in Multiplayer and the Blackout battle royale.
In the v1.17 update, which went live on April 30, developers Treyarch decided to implement boosts to several weapons based on how they've been performing during matches in both Multiplayer and Blackout.
Interestingly enough, almost the entirety of the weapon tuning resulted in buffs made to guns, as there were almost no weapons nerfed except for one in either mode.
The dominant theme of the weapon tuning in Multiplayer was buffs to Submachine Guns, as there were a total of six SMGs that were given a boost in this update: GK5, MX-9, Daemon 3XB, Switchblade X9, Cordite, and Spitfire.
Most of the changes included increasing the range at which certain weapons could eliminate players with a specific amounts of shots hit, with the Switchblade and Cordite getting the most improvements in that aspect.
It's important to note that all of the changes made to the Cordite and Spitfire were exclusive to consoles only, so they will not affect gameplay on PC.
Furthermore, Treyarch have also addressed the exploit that was allowing players to "fire faster than intended from sprint by starting a slide, then immediately firing."
The only weapon to have been nerfed in this entire update was the Saug 9mm, more specifically its powerful Stock II attachment.
With the v1.17 weapon tuning, the Saug equipped with Stock II now has a slightly reduced move speed when aiming down sights.
The v1.17 update also made some adjustments to three weapons in the Blackout battle royale mode, with all of the changes being improvements to the guns' effectiveness.
The Mozu and VKM 750 were both buffed in their base states, while the gold version of the Hades was also boosted, including its 4x scope replaced with a 2x.
