The infamous CoD Burner has now been releasing sensitive information about the inner workings of CoD esports for almost a year, but no one has been able to identify them yet, not even the pro players.

If unaware, ‘CoD Burner’ is a Reddit account, that began posting information, which only someone with inside knowledge of rosters and players would have, to the official Call of Duty esports sub reddit.

One would think that after almost a year of leaks and insider speculation from this mystery account, they would have slipped up somewhere, or their information line would have at least narrowed down the options.

But, Luminosity player Jordan ‘JKap’ Kaplan explains that even the professional players themselves, who would be the most likely party to be able to identify the individual, are having a tough time working it out.

FaZe Clan’s Tommy ‘ZooMaa’ Paparatto recently did two lengthy live streams of himself and fellow pros trying to narrow down the options, but made little progress.

JKap explains that the issue is the speed at which the CoD Burner releases information, and that they are not choosy, so any rumor or speculation will do. This means that there is little indication as to their agenda or who is feeding them the details.

JKap says that although some of the pro players, including himself, have narrowed it down to a few potential suspects, there is nothing concrete to go on, and falsely accusing someone would have extremely detrimental affects for that person.

eUnited coach and former professional player Brian ‘Saintt’ Baroska even revealed that he had been threatened with losing his position, after fingers began to be pointed at him.

For now, the CoD Burner continues to run amok in the community, releasing information almost daily, with no regard for the confidential nature of roster agreements and contractual arrangements.
