Call of Duty developers Treyarch have released another update in Black Ops 4, and we’re here to make sure you’re caught up on all of the details.

Another week, another update released for Black Ops 4, and the latest one put out on July 30 includes changes, new content, and announcements for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Blackout battle royale.

Below, you can find everything there is to know about the update, the full list what’s to come in the near future, and the patch notes.

Ground War and Prop Hunt return

This update has reintroduced Prop Hunt and Ground War into Multiplayer and Blackout respectively. Ground War is making its first appearance in the battle royale ever since the main map was change to a post-apocalyptic theme.

Both modes are available for a limited time only, and all indications are that they could be taken out of the rotation after this week.

TreyarchGround War has been in Blackout before, but not since the map was changed to be post-Apocalyptic.

New content and modes coming soon

While the update did not do much in the way of adding any major new content or modes, Treyarch did use the occasion to announce that there is a lot to look forward to in Black Ops 4.

Coming on August 6 will be the next phase in currently ongoing Operation: Apocalypse Z, including a new mode called Pandemic, the return of Infection but with a twist, updates to Blackout, a new competitive Gauntlet in ‘Alpha Omega’ called ‘Duck and Cover,’ and more.

Keep in mind that this new content will only be available on the PlayStation 4 at launch, as Xbox One and PC players will have to wait seven days before its made available on their platforms.

TreyarchInfected: Final Stand will be making its debut in Black Ops 4 soon, adding a twist to the fan-favorite party game.

Here are the full patch notes for the July 30 update, as provided by Treyarch on Reddit

July 30 Update: New Content Dropping August 6th on PS4 / Prop Hunt and Ground War Return / Upcoming Improvements & Fixes

New Content Incoming Next Week on PS4

The next phase of Operation Apocalypse Z kicks off August 6th on PS4, delivering even more new content to all modes in Black Ops 4. Here’s a preview of what’s to come:

  • Pandemic – Imagine an 80-player game of Infected on the biggest Call of Duty map ever made. We’re cranking that idea to 11 and making it a reality in Blackout, where the rules have changed from “last squad standing” to “last survivors on Earth against an endless swarm of undead at the end of the world”. Get ready to run.
  • Infected: Final Stand – The fan-favorite party game rises again in Multiplayer with new game-changing twists to keep both teams fighting for survival until the very end.
  • Blackout Updates – We’re adding the new sidecar-equipped Motorcycle to Blackout, along with more Zombies-inspired Easter eggs, Wonder Weapons, wall buys, and enemy types.
  • “Alpha Omega” Gauntlet – Take on 30 new rounds of challenges at Camp Edward in our latest competitive Gauntlet for Zombies fans, “Duck and Cover”.
  • More Contract Rewards – We’re increasing the potential Contract reward rate in every mode by guaranteeing at least one Normal Contract with a Reserve Case reward each day.
  • New Black Market Content – New Contraband rewards are coming, including an Ultra Weapon Bribe, new Epic Outfits, Gestures, Reactive Camo, Jump Pack, Calling Cards, and more.

Look for all the details in next week’s patch notes, plus some sneak peeks coming soon…

Prop Hunt and Ground War Are Back!

Today’s Featured Playlist update brings Prop Hunt back to MP, and Ground War comes to Blackout’s post-apocalyptic main map for the first time. Both are limited time modes, so you’ll want to jump in now while they’re featured this week. Barebones Moshpit also comes to MP on PS4 and Xbox One, combining Barebones Deathmatch Moshpit with Barebones Objective Moshpit for a more diverse back-to-basics experience.

Known Issues and Incoming Improvements

This update fixes a recent issue in Zombies where players were unable to pick up the Shield piece that could appear on the bookshelf in the Library in “Dead of the Night” – thanks to the community for the reports. We’re also tracking several issues and improvements for the future, including (not limited to):

  • Previously saved Paintjobs currently appearing hidden
  • Daemon 3XB Mastercraft not leveling up properly if the base version isn’t owned
  • Improved pathing for the K9-Unit to prevent Juneau from jumping up onto the tower in Summit
  • Damage tuning for the Reaver C86, Argus, and Locus in Zombies
  • Crashes that can occur when Pack-a-Punching the Ballistic Knife in Zombies
  • Various fixes and improvements for “Alpha Omega” in Zombies

Please continue to report any bugs you encounter with as much information included as possible (platform you’re playing on, map/weapon/attachment being used, etc.) and we’ll bring them to the team’s attention for investigation. The more info you can provide about the bug, the faster we can track down the cause.

A Note from the Team

As a reminder, please be civil in your communications on this subreddit and on social media about individual team members. It’s fair game to criticize the studio or the game, but targeting an individual is crossing the line, especially when comments reflect unverified or inaccurate information.

We often have members of the dev team speak in public as representatives of the game and studio, but no one should confuse that with them being in charge of, or wholly responsible for, overarching decisions about the game – and under no circumstances should any individual be called out or attacked for any reason. Please keep it clean and respectful when talking about individual team members, and keep the conversation constructive.

Black Ops Cold War is certainly no stranger to burst fire weapons, particularly those of the assault rifle kind. However, there is also one SMG that shares this firing pattern. Here are all the attachments you should be using to unleash the KSP 45’s full potential.

The KSP 45 may not be your go-to SMG in Black Ops Cold War, especially when the likes of the MP5 and Milano dominate the category. However, despite being a three-round burst weapon, the KSP 45 offers great damage and decent range. Only one burst is needed to drop an enemy in close-quarters engagements, while two are needed at mid-range.

This deadly gun blends both AR and SMG playstyle together, making it a great choice for those that want to remain competitive across all distances. In order to help you get the most out of the KSP 45 in Treyarch’s latest title, we’ve created a loadout that will help you secure more frags in no time.

Best KSP 45 loadout in Black Ops Cold War

KSP 45
Activision / Treyarch
This loadout balances the KSP 45’s range and close-quarter effectiveness.

Here’s how you need to kit out your KS5 45 SMG to dish out the most damage across all ranges.

Attachments

  • Barrel: 10.5 Reinforced Heavy
  • Body: SWAT 5MW Laser Sight
  • Underbarrel: Front Grip
  • Magazine: 42 RND
  • Stock: Tactical Stock

Secondary

  • 1911

Throwables

  • Stimshot
  • Semtex
  • Field Mic

Perks

  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket + Tactical Mask
  • Perk 2: Assassin + Scavenger
  • Perk 3: Ninja + Ghost

Wildcard

  • Perk Greed

Whether you prefer to seek out close-quarter firefights or take down foes in mid-range engagements with deadly precision, then this KSP 45 loadout will enable you to do just that. The 10.5 Reinforced Heavy increases the SMG’s effectiveness at range and bolsters its bullet velocity.

Combine this with the horizontal recoil control from the Front Grip and you have an extremely accurate SMG. While the KSP 45 will still struggle to outgun the game’s meta assault rifles, you’ll at least have a fighting chance. After all, being able to take down mid-range targets in just two bursts is hardly anything to scoff at.

Meanwhile, the SWAT 5MW Laser Sight improves the gun’s hip-fire accuracy. Mobility and ADS speed remains a big part of Black Ops Cold War, especially when you’re playing on maps like Nuketwon ‘84. As a result, being able to accurately kill any targets without ever looking down your gun’s sights is great.

The 42 RND Mags ensure you have plenty of ammo when it comes to snagging those game-winning multi-kills. Lastly, the Tactical Stock increases aim walking movement speed, enabling you to keep on your toes and quickly sweep those corners.

The KSP 45 may not be as dominant as the MP5, but it still packs a punch.

This loadout uses Perk Greed, which allows players to take six perks. The combination of Flak Jacket and Tactical Mask will keep you safe from any explosives and noxious gas. These perks are important for most loadouts, but especially hyper-aggressive ones that prefer the run and gun approach to combat.

Assassin enables you to shut down any enemies that are currently on killstreaks, while Scavenger keeps your ammunition reserves healthy. Lastly, Ghost and Ninja keep you hidden from pesky enemy spy planes and silences your footsteps.

In terms of equipment, we’ve chosen the standard Stimshot, Semtex, and Field Mic items. Having the healing from Stimshot will keep you fighting, while the Field Mic allows you to pick up on any enemy movements.

So there you have it, an extremely deadly and versatile KSP 45 loadout. If you want to keep updated with all the latest Call of Duty news and updates, then follow us over on @DexertoIntel
