With 10 different attachment types to consider, it can be difficult figuring out where to even start. So for a comprehensive overview of this build, let’s break down every STG44 attachment to understand how they help.
Up first comes the F8 Stabilizer along with the VDD 760MM 05B. Together, these combine for improved accuracy and control, as well as a slight increase in damage. These are essential in making the STG44 exceptional at medium range. Even though some of these attachments might negatively impact handling and speed, the focus of this class is ranged effectiveness.
When it comes to picking an optic, this is purely down to your personal preference. For this build, we went with the Slate Reflector for something simple in order to avoid any huge downsides.
Next, we decided to run with the VDD 27 Precision Stock to start combating the negative effects of earlier attachments. With this equipped, your ADS speed and recoil will also be improved.
The M1941 Handstop Underbarrel complements this STG build nicely as well, adding even more recoil control to keep your shots on point.
Things start to get crazy when it comes time to settle on a Magazine. For this optimal STG loadout, we’ve gone with the .30 Russian Short 20 Round Mags to drastically improve your damage. While it cuts your magazines down to just 20 bullets and even impacts your recoil somewhat, the positives definitely outweigh the negatives.
With this attachment, you’ll have not just improved damage, but quicker reloads, and most importantly, improved bullet velocity. This means your shots will land much quicker than usual, helping you win just about every gunfight.
To that point, Lengthened is a great Ammo Type to equip in order to further optimize bullet velocity. With this AR setup, you’ll be connecting almost instantly.
Wrapping things up we have the Stippled Grip attachment for the Rear Grip of the STG. Once again this helps improve recoil, but more importantly, it helps with initial accuracy.
Last but not least we have AR weapon perks. For Proficiency, we went with Sleight of Hand to improve the reload speed of the STG 44. This will help you in winning gunfights as the time to kill is so fast in Vanguard.
Meanwhile, for the Kit, we have Fully Loaded so that you won’t have to deal with ammo scarcity.
- Perk 1: Ghost
- Perk 2: Radar
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Secondary: 1911 Pistol
- Lethal: MK2 Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Stim
- Field Upgrade: Armor
For the remainder of your STG44 loadout, it’s crucial you select the right Perks, Equipment, and Field Upgrades to complement the deadly AR build.
When it comes to Perks, there are two clear-cut options you simply can’t overlook. Both Ghost and Radar are essentially must-picks in Vanguard, as they clearly outweigh any other choice in their respective categories.
Ghost keeps you off enemy minimaps when Spy Planes are flying overhead, though you might want to take Ninja if you’re a sneaky player who loves flanking and sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies. Radar reverts your minimap back to how it’s always worked in CoD. When enemies fire unsilenced weapons, you’ll know exactly where they are.
For the final Perk, this is more down to personal preference but we’ve settled on Double Time. This will get you out of the spawn area quicker and back into the fight.
You won’t be swapping over to a secondary all too often, but it’s still handy to have a 1911 on standby. If your smaller mags run out, quickly swapping to this beastly sidearm should keep you on your feet.
For Equipment, the standard MK2 Frag Grenade does the job no matter the game mode. Similarly, Stim is a must-pick to keep you alive and back at full health immediately after gunfights. Not only that, but it also resets your Tac Sprint as well.
Armor is undeniably one of the strongest Field Upgrades in Vanguard and it can’t go amiss with this AR loadout. The extra health will have you winning 1v1s with ease.
The STG44 has been crowned as the best Assault Rifle in Vanguard. With that said, there are still steps you can take to maximize the weapon’s effectiveness in game.
Here are a few tips on how to effectively take advantage of our best STG44 class in Vanguard:
- The STG44 has a quite high damage output but not the fastest fire rate. Ideally, you should focus on getting into medium to long range gunfights.
- Perks Ghost & Radar work great in conjunction with each other. Ghost conceals you from the enemy mini-map while Radar reveals unsilenced enemies. Use this to your advantage.
- Vanguard’s multiplayer is incredibly fast paced. Use Stim to constantly be on the move, flank enemies or make a quick escape.
Also, remember to always develop a playstyle that feels the best for you. With that said, if you’re still struggling to succeed with the STG44, these tips should be helpful.
In order to unlock the STG44 in CoD Vanguard, all you have to do is boot up the game as it’s already unlocked at Level 1. However, you will have to unlock the attachments for this weapon. This shouldn’t take too long if you make use of Double XP tokens or play with the Assault and Blitz Combat Pacing.
To maximize XP, also make sure to play the objective in game modes like Domination, Patrol, and Hardpoint – plus, novelty LTM playlist options like ShipHaus will do wonders as well.
If you’re looking for an alternative to the STG44, then check out our Automaton loadout. Although this Assault Rifle has a significantly faster fire rate than the STG44, it’s currently one of the most popular weapons in the game and it’s steadily becoming the meta.
The Automaton doesn’t have the long-range capabilities as the STG44, but it makes up for that in fire rate and close-range effectiveness. So for those players who are quite aggressive, then this weapon loadout may be a good fit.
