ACHES Turns Back the Clock With a Clinical 1v1 to Complete Reverse Sweep at CWL Champs

CoD:WWII felt a little bit like Ghosts when Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price clutched up in Search and Destroy to send his team to the Winners Finals.

The 2014 Call of Duty Champion was left in a 1v1 against Team EnVy in Round 10 of the Game 5 Search.

ACHES and Evil Geniuses fell down 0-2 in the series but battled back to force the Game 5.

The S&D was a back and forth affair with neither team able to distance themselves. Finally, EG earned match point and the round came down to a 1v1 between CoD legend ACHES and rising star Huke.

There would be no torch passed as ACHES masterfully used the cover of the bomb site to win the engagement and send EG through to a guaranteed top 3 placing.

Evil Geniuses had a roller coaster of a season, making the Grand Finals of CWL Seattle and dominating the first half of the Stage 2 Pro League, but the wheels came off after a disappointing finish in CWL Anaheim.

The team was suddenly unable to win a Search, dropping 14 straight and missing out on the Stage 2 Playoffs.

Pool play of Champs also showed off the hot and cold nature of the EG roster, losing to Elevate but sweeping OpTic Gaming to advance to the bracket portion of the tournament.

Next up for EG is Team Kaliber in the Winners Finals of the 2018 CWL Championships. You call follow all the Champs action with Dexerto’s 2018 CWL Championship Hub.
