ACHES announced as LA Guerrillas franchise captain

Los Angeles Guerrillas, one of two Call of Duty franchises making the famous Californian city their home, have announced two-time world champion Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price as their captain for the upcoming CDL season.

Los Angeles is the only city involved in the CDL to have two separate franchises competing over the same share of land. The first of these franchises, owned by OpTic Gaming, is aptly named OpTic Gaming Los Angeles.

They announced their impressive roster on October 24, featuring a number of the most talented youngsters in the world. Dashy and TJHaLy, who both competed for the Greenwall during Black Ops 4, are joined by JKap, Slasher and Kenny.

However, it’s their neighbors who have made waves with their latest announcement, confirming late on October 25 that their roster will be led by none other than Patrick ‘ACHES’ Price, a world champion on CoD: Ghosts and WWII.

Away from his undeniable achievements in the competitive CoD world, ACHES is sometimes colloquialized as the “OpTic Killer”, thanks to his aversion for the Greenwall, and habit of knocking them out of the biggest tournaments at the biggest moments.

The prospect of ACHES being based in the same city as OpTic’s franchise is a mouth-watering prospect, and we can expect to see the rivalry burn on throughout the Modern Warfare season.

As the Guerrillas put it: “The Battle for LA begins”.

Of all the famous ACHES vs OpTic moments, few stand out more than the famous Map 5, Round 11 at Black Ops III’s CWL Championship.

OpTic entered the tournament hot favorites, but struggled in Search and Destroy and fell into the Losers’ Bracket. There, they came up against ACHES’ Cloud 9 roster, who dramatically eliminated OpTic as FormaL lost a 1v1 vs Assault.

The remaining members of LA Guerrillas’ roster are yet to be confirmed but, with ACHES leading the line, it’s fair to say we can expect to see them competing and being vocal members of the Call of Duty League.

It seems ACHES will have to channel his aversion for OpTic Gaming and use it to fuel his Call of Duty across the year.

It’s just another of the intriguing story-lines being set up in the CDL.
