Custom loadouts have turned out to be a very important aspect of Call of Duty: Warzone, so we’ve put together a list of six good classes to have for the battle royale.

With custom loadouts in Warzone, Infinity Ward introduced a concept into the battle royale that hasn’t really been seen before, at least when it comes to the biggest titles.

Whether or not they belong in the game is a discussion for a different day, but the fact is they’re here to stay, and they’re pretty easy to get. Your team can either quickly pool together the $10,000 necessary to purchase a Loadout Drop, or go for one of the crates that naturally drop throughout each match.

That then begs the question - what makes a good custom class? Each one has a primary weapon, secondary, lethal, tactical, and three perks, so there are plenty of combinations you can choose from.

For those new to Modern Warfare, the default loadouts that the drops also provide are good enough, but for more seasoned players, the in-game Gunsmith feature offers you the chance to create some overpowered classes to help you dominate enemy teams.

Below, we’re listed five loadouts were feel can provide exactly that for you in Warzone. Keep in mind, some of the guns and attachments could still be locked for you. If that’s the case, substitute them with similar ones until you’ve played enough to unlock the rest.

Important stuff to have

In this section, we break down the guns, attachments, perks, and equipment that have proven to be very viable in Warzone, and most of which we've included in our custom classes as well.

Weapons

The HDR is a powerful sniper in Call of Duty: Warzone.

HDR: Snipers play a huge role in this BR, and you have two solid ones to choose from: HDR and AX-50. For our classes, we've gone with the HDR because it has better accuracy and range, and has proven to get more one- or two-shot kills than the AX-50.

M4A1: Just as in Multiplayer, the M4 is a dominant AR to use in Warzone, especially when equipped with the right attachments.

RAM-7: Those who have tried this AR in Multiplayer won't be surprised to see it make our list of top weapons. In fact, when it comes to the BR, the RAM-7 often outperforms the M4 in a lot of situations, other than long-range.

MP5: Much like the M4 with ARs, the MP5 is the premier SMG to use in Multiplayer and has proven to be just as lethal in the battle royale.

AUG: Some might be surprised to see the AUG on this list, considering it's not really a top-tier SMG in Multiplayer. However, in Warzone, it's a hidden gem. In fact, according to popular CoD YouTuber TheXclusiveAce, the AUG actually has the highest damage per second out of all assault rifles and submachine guns, which means it has AR-level damage with SMG-type handling.

PKM LMG: In nearly every aspect, the PKM is the most reliable and viable choice from the light machine gun category, and that's translated over to Warzone. It's versatile enough to work as an assault rifle hybrid, making it a strong weapon to operate with.

Monolithic Suppressor: This is obviously an attachment and not a weapon but it features in all of our classes so it deserves a mention. Not only does it suppress your shots so that you don't appear on the mini-map, but it also improves your weapon's damage range, so it's a must-have.

Perks

Cold Blooded, Overkill, and Tracker are all great perks to use in Call of Duty: Warzone

Cold Blooded: There really should only be one Perk 1 that you run in Warzone and it's Cold Blooded. With how prevalent sniper rifles with thermal sights are, it'll really help hide your body from enemy scopes. Also, it stops you from triggering a High Alert warning and Recon Drones can't mark you.

Overkill: Needless to say, Overkill has proven to be a huge perk in this BR, so it's featured in several of our classes. One simply can't understate the value of having two fully-decked out primary weapons in a single class.

Ghost: Ghost is the other Perk 2 that can play a crucial role in Warzone, so the decision of whether to have it or Overkill is a risk/reward balancing act. With how common UAVs are, having Ghost can prove to be a game-changer. However, a clever way to get both on a single class is to pick your Ghost setup then simply swap out your secondary for another primary, whether it be from another loadout drop or regular loot.

Amped: If you plan on having a sniper rifle as one of your weapons and your playstyle requires you to constantly be switching between your two guns, then Amped is the way to go, because it speeds up that process by a significant amount. The difference between swapping guns with and without it is very noticeable.

Tracker: If you don't think using your third perk slot on Amped is worth it for the way you play, then Tracker is a more-than-good-enough substitute. With how much people love hiding in buildings, this perk can really help you find them and take care of business.

Equipment

Equipment, like Heartbeat Sensors, play a big role in Call of Duty: Warzone.

Semtex/Frag Grenade: Whether you go with a Semtex or Frag Grenade is really up to personal preference. One gives you more control of where it lands and the other can be cooked to catch enemies by surprise.

Heartbeat Sensor: Virtually useless in Multiplayer, this tactical is one of the more powerful items in Warzone. Not only does it scan a decent range, but it also has unlimited uses, making it the perfect way to make sure buildings are clear.

Smoke Grenade: While we highly recommend going with a Heartbeat Sensor, Smoke Grenades have their place in the BR. You can use them to get out of sticky situations and cover yourself when going for Loadout Drops or Buy Stations.

Now that you've got a rundown on the best stuff to use in Warzone, here are six loadouts worth building for the battle royale.

Long-range Overkill

Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward

  • M4A1 Assault Rifle: Monolithic Suppressor, Corvus Custom Marksman, Integral Hybrid, M-16 Stock, 60 Round Mags
  • HDR: Monolithic Suppressor, 26.9" HDR Pro, Thermal Sniper Scope, FTAC Hunter Scout, 9 Round Mags
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade

This class is for those who like to play slow, positionally, and only engage at long range. Both weapons have been outfitted to maximize range and accuracy while taking a hit at mobility.

Smoke Grenade is probably more useful here than a Heartbeat Sensor since you won't be doing too much moving around.

Balanced Overkill

Infinity Ward

  • AUG: Monolithic Suppressor, FTAC Ultralight Hollow, Tactical Foregrip, 5.56 NATO 60-Round Drums, Stippled Grip Tape
  • HDR: Monolithic Suppressor, 26.9" HDR Pro, Thermal Sniper Scope, FTAC Hunter Scout, 9 Round Mags
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

If you want to use a sniper rifle but plan on doing a little moving around, this class offers more of a balanced approach. As mentioned above, the AUG is especially viable in Warzone, providing the power of an assault rifle (with the 5.56 rounds) and the handling of an SMG.

Since you'll be going around more, the Heartbeat Sensor is a good Tactical to have in your back pocket.

Aggressive AR/SMG combo

Infinity Ward

  • RAM-7: Monolithic Suppressor, XRK Ranger, Operator Reflex Sight, Tactical Foregrip, 50 Round Mags
  • MP5: Monolithic Suppressor, FSS Mini, FSS Close Quarters Stock, Tactical Foregrip, 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Tracker
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

With the RAM-7 being one of the premier assault rifles in Warzone, what better way to compliment it than with the MP5, one of the best SMGs in the game.

The guns have been outfitted with attachments in order to balance each other out; the RAM-7 is more of a long-range build while the MP5 has been tailored to shred in close quarters.

Best of (nearly) all worlds

Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward

  • PKM: Monolithic Suppressor, 26.9" Extended Barrel, Integral Hybrid, FORGE Tac Stalker, Tactical Foregrip
  • R9-0: Monolithic Suppressor, FORGE TAC Sentry, 5mW Laser, Tube Extensions, Frangible-Disabling
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Overkill, Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

As the name suggests, this loadout offers the best of both worlds - being able to engage at nearly all distances except sniper-level ranges. The PKM, a powerful choice in Warzone, has been outfitted with attachments that maximize its range, making it lethal at medium-to-long distances.

The R9-0, which is devastating up close, allows you to engage at close-range without having to hesitate without hesitation, not to mention the fact the Frangible-Disabling perk makes things a lot easier once you land that first shot.

Covert sniper

Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward

  • HDR: Monolithic Suppressor, 26.9" HDR Pro, Thermal Sniper Scope, FTAC Hunter Scout, 9 Round Mags
  • .50 GS: Monolithic Suppressor, FORGE Tac Enforcer, Lightweight Trigger, 13 Round Mags, Granulated Grip Tape
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Ghost, Amped
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade

For our last two loadouts, we've ditched Overkill and instead gone with Ghost, whose protection from UAVs can be game-changing, especially if you're going to be sniping from stationary positions.

The idea behind this class is to drop the Deagle as soon as possible, picking up another primary from either an enemy's body, floor loot, or another Loadout Drop. That way, you get the benefit of Overkill and Ghost at the same time.

The Smoke Grenade should help you out in case things get hairy and you still haven't found a good second gun yet.

AUG with Ghost

Infinity Ward
Infinity Ward

  • AUG: Monolithic Suppressor, FORGE Ultralight Hollow, Tactical Foregrip, 5.56 NATO 60-Round Drums, Stippled Grip Tape
  • .50 GS: Monolithic Suppressor, FORGE Tac Enforcer, Lightweight Trigger, 13 Round Mags, Granulated Grip Tape
  • Perks: Cold Blooded, Ghost, Tracker
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor

The same idea from the previous loadout applies to this one as well, except here we have a fully decked-out AUG and not a sniper rifle. This should ease the pressure on finding a good second gun since the AUG will provide that AR/SMG hybrid in case you need to engage enemies.

There you have it - the best loadouts and attachment combos to use in Warzone battle royale. Keep in mind that, while these classes are effective on paper, you may not be comfortable using a certain weapon or attachment, so feel free to modify them to be better tailored to your preferences.
