The company that is well known for its social media presence is also trying to connect with a young audience through Twitch.

On Friday, November 9th, Wendy’s is launching “Make it Rain ‘Fry-Days’” where select Twitch streams will rain fries down on the screen when viewers cheer.

On the first day, two Twitch streams will be highlighted to make it rain.

From 8 PM to 10 PM ET, SpaceLyon’s stream will be the focus before the event is moving over to Wavy’s channel from 10 PM to Midnight ET.

The event will take place again next week with two new streams being featured.

The name is a stroke of genius. It works on multiple levels as fries will rain down on the screen while streamers make money, and it’s a pun to top it all off.

Wendy’s doesn’t have a previous history in the esports/gaming space and this activation may just be the start of the companies future initiatives.

This announcement comes on the tail of McDonald’s doing a well-received ad campaign within CS:GO and the two fast-food giants have definitely identified the value in the esports audience.
