DICE Reveals Maps, Modes, Weapons and Classes Available in Battlefield 5 Beta

DICE has dropped a ton of new information on their upcoming Battlefield 5 beta, including when, what and how you will be playing.

The developer detailed the maps, game modes, classes, vehicles and weapons that will be available for testing in the BFV beta.

Battlefield 5 Beta Start Date

The Battlefield 5 beta will start on September 6 at 1:00 AM PDT. THose who preorder will get two extra days of playtime, starting on September 4, also at 1:00 AM PDT.

The beta can be pre-loaded on September 3, so you can jump right in when the Battlefield 5 beta goes live on the 4th or 6th.

Battlefield 5’s beta is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is available worldwide, though the beta will only have English language localization.

Battlefield 5 Beta Maps and Modes

The new Grand Operation mode will be on display for the battlefield 5 Beta, as well the classic mode Conquest.

Grand Operation is similar to Operations from Battlefield 1, except it will be broken up into different modes by days.

The Battlefield 5 beta will feature the first two days of the Fall of Norway Grand Operation.

Rotterdam is a map based on the Dutch city and will be the site of the Conquest game mode during the beta. In a change for the Battlefield series and WW2 games in general, Rotterdam is set before the war, meaning it will be a clean city with rubble will be nowhere to be found.

Battlefield 5 Beta Vehicles

It would not be a Battlefield game without vehicles and the beta will have a number of them available for testing.

Churchill tanks and Spitfire planes highlight the vehicle roster, while players who do not want to drive or pilot will have Reinforcements available to them.

Reinforcements include anti-tank and anti-aircraft guns, as well as rocket strikes and supply drops to help out your squad.

Battlefield 5 Beta Weapons and Classes

Battlefield features distinct classes that each use their own types of weapons and 5 is no different. Sniper rifles will be designated to the Recon class, SMGs to the Medics, LMGs to the Support and ARs will be for the Assault class.

Tides of War

Battlefield 5 will feature seasonal events called Tides of War, made up of various in game objectives and missions to unlock customization items.

The first Tides of War will be available during the beta, where players can complete objectives by September 9 to unlock an exclusive Dog Tag for use in the launch game.

Battlefield 5 was delayed, but will still launch in 2018 on November 20.
