Shroud explains why Gibraltar is “broken” in Apex Legends

Gibraltar has been getting stronger in Apex Legends, and Mixer star Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek likes that the Shielded Fortress is a bit “broken” at the start of Season 4.

Ever since the Grand Soiree Event patch update on January 14, Gibraltar has been seeing a lot more use in the Apex Games – sometimes being hailed as a tankier Lifeline that can stay alive for a long time while reviving downed teammates faster while inside the Dome Shield.

The buffs have helped Gibby place higher on tier lists for Legends in the game, and the changes haven’t gone past shroud who’s been enjoying the updates to the character.

Gibraltar’s buffs have been making him a great Legend to pick up in the game.

“Dude, Gibraltar is f**king broken,” shroud said after finishing a match against Gibraltar. “What the f**k, that man is a tank! That shield is f**king broken.”

Getting back into the Apex Legends groove, shroud was queuing up with Susquehanna Soniqs’s Noah ‘Android Dream’ Martinez and Matthew ‘WiKeD’ Robertson when noticing the big differences in Gibraltar’s potency as of late.

Some players have gone so far as to say that Gibby actually needs nerfs now, seeing how vital he can be in team comp – but he’s loving it.

“I kinda like how Gibraltar is though,” shroud explained in between games. “It’s just crazy how you always forget how busted that man is.”

Even though Gibby has one of the bigger builds for a character, the Shielded Fortress can mow down players given his health, ability to take a hit with the Fortified passive, shield mounted on his gun barrel, and instant protection from his Dome Shield.

While there might be some downsides to taking the towering Legend into the Apex Games, there are just too many upsides in his kit that makes him a crucial component for teams.

Lately, shroud reaffirmed his love for PUBG over Apex Legends but, if there are more healthy changes to the game like Gibraltar’s much-needed buffs, maybe that could change in the future.

With Season 4 just getting underway, it’ll be interesting to see how Respawn changes up their roster to contend against how strong they’ve made Gibby in the last few months.
