Apex Legends pro player Philip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen doesn’t think the Lifeline buffs are enough to bring the Combat Medic into the meta.

Over the last few seasons, Lifeline has been one of the most controversial topics in Apex Legends, with countless players calling for her to be buffed.

Although there were rumors no major changes were coming before the ALGS Championship, Respawn surprised the community by revealing that Lifeline buffs were arriving with the Awakening Collection Event on June 21.

By increasing the healing from her Tactical, reducing the cooldown of her Ultimate, and adding a Shield Battery to her care package, the devs are hoping Lifeline can carve out a position in the meta.

Well, after evaluating changes, ImperialHal isn’t convinced she’s going to be a top-tier pick that can compete with the likes of Seer, Valkyrie, and Horizon.

ImperialHal doesn’t think Lifeline will be meta after buffs

During his June 19 stream, ImperialHal and his squad were in the middle of a Ranked match on Storm Point when the topic of Lifeline came up in conversation.

After being asked whether Lifeline will be a popular pick next season, Hal responded by saying “no” despite the changes arriving in the Collection Event.

Overall, he doesn’t think the “hard” buff to her Tactical and cooldown reduction on her Ultimate is enough for her to replace one of the current meta Legends.

With Valkyrie, Seer, Caustic, Gibraltar. and Horizon being so strong and offering so much value to a team comp, it’s obvious he feels the Combat Medic just can’t compete.

As showcased by Zipp, Verhulst and Reptar were a little more optimistic about the buffs compared to Hal, even claiming that they were going to test Lifeline once the changes have arrived.

However, it’s clear Hal feels that the buffs are a nice addition, but they won’t be propelling the Combat Medic to the top of the meta anytime soon.
