Apex players can get their hands on the exclusive “Geometric Anomaly” skin for their favorite mad scientist for free if they are a Twitch Prime user – here’s how.

There’s nothing like expanding your in-game wardrobe with a single click of the mouse. Twitch Prime users have enjoyed an avalanche of free in-game cosmetics and items for a long time now, and even the occasional free game.

Now, the generous folks at Twitch have added yet another cosmetic skin from Respawn’s breakout battle royale Apex Legends to its Loot catalog, meaning anyone with a Prime account can access it.

The newest Twitch Prime skin for Apex Legends, Geometric Anomaly.

The Geometric Anomaly skin was leaked earlier in January, and the now released cosmetic mirrors the original image. This version of Caustic is wearing white, maroon, and gold, with his trademark backpack, goggles, and hair. Respawn describes it as “crazy meets classy.”

How can I get the skin?

To get the skin, go to the Twitch Prime website. If you’re already a user on the site, you can navigate to it from the home page by clicking the Crown in the top right corner. Once there, the listing for Caustic’s Geometric Anomaly should be on the top. Click “Learn More.”

Multiple new skins will be coming to Twitch Prime Loot in the future.

This should take you to the Apex Legends page for Twitch Prime Loot. There you can see the skin, as well as the first Season 3 cosmetic that was made available – the Cyber Attack Crypto skin, though it is sadly no longer available.

Sign in to, or sign up for Prime, and make sure you click on the button that links your account to your EA account. You can also do this through your profile settings.

Once your accounts are linked, click the big Claim button and a big window saying “Successfully claimed” should pop up.

As the Apex Legends loot page indicates, Twitch Prime is planning to release ten more free cosmetic skins through their loot program. The Geometric Anomaly Caustic skin is available until February 17, and is only available through the service.

The Grand Soiree event is ongoing during the final weeks of season 3.

The skin isn’t directly related to the Grand Soiree event going on during the final weeks of Season 3, which has already resulted in a treasure trove of new skins and camos being added to the Legends’ wardrobe.

The event is scheduled to end on January 28, with Season 4 expected to start just a few days after, in the early days of February.

Apex Legends developer Daniel Klein has revealed the five most popular legends from Season 7 – and it should come as no surprise that Horizon is right up there already.

As the Apex Legends seasons have unfolded, it’s been easy for players to chop and change the legends they use seeing as a new character is introduced which each major, season starting update.

The new character always receives huge attention as players want to test out the new content, but sometimes, they don’t stick around and can immediately fall to the bottom of the pile once fans are seemingly bored with them.

In the case of Horizon and Apex Legends Season 7, she has been able to stick around as one of the most played legends – even cementing her spot amongst some of the battle royale’s long-term favorites.

Wraith still leads the way as Apex’s most-used legend.

Speaking on The Third Party: An Apex Legends podcast, Respawn Senior Game Designer Daniel Klein revealed how the list of most played legends in the new season had started to shape up.

“Wraith, Bloodhound, Horizon, Octane, and then Lifeline, that’s the pick order right now,” Klein told the podcast hosts in relation to the top five, noting that Horizon had started to settle in the top five after her initial explosion in use.

Octane being so high might surprise a few players, and as Klein points out, he doesn’t “win a lot of games,” but he’s so fun to play because of his speedy abilities. Klein also noted that there is an “interesting situation” with Bloodhound because they have a high pick rate, but they don’t win a lot of games.

Additionally, the Apex developer revealed that Loba has also seen a rise in her trios win rate after her Ultimate received a bit of a shake up at the start of Season 7. Though, he didn’t note just how popular and used that she has become.

As the season unfolds, some currently lesser-played legends might see a boost in usage after Respawn rolls out patches, so, we’ll have to wait and see as to whether or not the top five is shaken up or if it stays the same moving forward.
