How to counter Revenant’s Ultimate in Apex Legends with Caustic trick

Apex Legends has been hit with a long-awaited update – Season 4: Assimilation. One of the biggest talking points of the new season is the latest Legend, Revenant, and players have already found a neat trick to counter him.

Revenant is a unique Legend that comes with both a ‘silence’ ability as well as a way to defy death through his ultimate, Death Totem.

This ability allows players to survive an otherwise killing blow, as they return to the totem if they lose all of their health, rather than being downed. However, some fans have already figured out a great counter to this and here’s how to do it.

How to counter Revenant’s ultimate in Apex Legends

If you want to counter Revenant and his ultimate you’ll only need one thing – Caustic.

Whenever you see an enemy throw down their Death Totem simply place a gas trap right next to it, and as soon as anyone teleports to the totem they will be instantly downed.

This only works with Caustic because players under the effect of Revenant’s ultimate only take health damage, so they will still have their one health and shields up when they teleport back, meaning they can still act. However, Caustic’s gas trap will instantly do one hit point of damage, rather than shields, knocking them down.

Of course, it can be rather difficult to get close enough to the totem to actually place a trap, but if you attempt to do it, it’s likely to be well worth the risk, especially as many players still aren’t used to the Legend, never mind his counters.

Now that you know this trick, playing against the newest hero on World’s Edge will be easier, and you’ll have the satisfaction of getting one over on him.
