Animal Crossing: New Horizons Bunny Day guide – eggs, recipes, more

Meg Bethany Koepp

Animal Crossing’s Easter celebration is well underway in New Horizons as of April 1, with Zipper spearheading the Bunny Day event. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

For the first time in a mainline entry in the series, holiday events span over several days rather than just one. For Easter, Zipper T. Bunny has scattered multiple types of eggs and crafting recipes all around your island, and has tasked you to search for them and make themed furniture and items before April 12.

It’s not as cut and dry as just finding them though – particular eggs require different methods, and you’ll need to seek out the recipes in order to craft certain items. Luckily for you, we’ve got everything you need to know on how to complete his Bunny Day challenge.

Where to find eggs

There isn’t just one set type – there’s actually six kinds you’ll have to discover if you want to craft all the DIYs: Water, Earth, Leaf, Wood, Stone, and Sky. They can be found by:

Water – Using your rod to fish in the river and the ocean

Earth – Digging at star-shaped holes with your shovel

Leaf – Shaking trees

Wood – Chopping trees with your axe

Stone – Hitting rocks with your shovel

Sky – Using your slingshot to pop present balloons out of the sky

When fishing, the eggs will be medium-sized shapes in the water, so look out for those to maximize your chances of finding them. As for chopping trees, make sure you use a flimsy axe to get three chops without cutting the tree down, and when smashing rocks, dig three holes behind you in order to get all eight hits.

Eggs can be found in many different ways.

How to get crafting recipes

Like regular recipes, the Easter ones are random – though Zipper will give you the Bunny Day Bed when you first talk to him, and the Arch on April 12. You can find them by either shooting down striped balloons with your slingshot, picking up striped bottles from the beach, or talking to your fellow villagers.

You’ll also automatically learn some clothing recipes like the Earth-Egg Outfit and the Leaf-Egg Shell after you’ve gathered a certain number of each egg type, so keep collecting them until your character says they’ve imagined a new way to use them.

After you’ve crafted everything, the rabbit will gift you with the recipe for the Wobbling Zipper Toy. If you show him this once you’ve made it, he’ll give you the one for the Bunny Day Wand.

You can craft many things with the eggs.
