eUnited and Splyce will face off in the loser bracket finals after ending the campaigns of EnVyUs and Red Reserve respectively.
The fixture is a rematch of the sides loser bracket round 2 game at CWL Paris, where Splyce triumphed in a 3-2 victory that consigned their American rivals to a top 16 finish and plenty of questions as to their short-lived reign.
The CWL Atlanta champions made light work of EnVy in a 3-0 sweep, while the concurrent all-UK bout, despite a late rally by Red to take the lead on the second Hardpoint, saw Splyce punch their first loser finals ticket since CoD XP.
Despite a sizeable jump from their top 12 placement at CWL Paris, EnVy looked out of sorts against an eUnited outfit that looked determined to make amends since Paris. The world champions have been plagued by inconsistent form reflected by top 6, top 12, 3rd and top 12 placements at the 4 CWL events this season.
Now guaranteed top 4, any doubts about eUnited’s credentials and rights to their Atlanta trophy have surely been quashed with an impressive run in Texas.
Red, judged in the event build-up alongside UK powerhouses including Splyce and Millenium, have exceeded expectations after losing Rated to Elevate, who placed top 24, exiting the tournament with plenty to be positive about in the approach to the global CWL Pro League.
