Have you ever wondered how much does a professional Counter Strike player get paid to play each month?
A video has been released by esports journalist, Richard Lewis, delving into the recent introduction of traditional sports brands picking up competitive gaming teams.
Discussing the impact of the big money deals on home grown esports organisations, the E-League host starts to talk about player salaries in CS:GO.
Richard advises that players in a North American or European tier 1 side that will reach major tournaments but won’t place highly, will get a minimum of $4,000 per month, going up to around $6,000.
For a top level CS:GO team who will be consistently performing at a top level at major tournaments, salaries are between $7,000 and $10,000, a figure that he believes is about right for now as the market stands.
Continuing up the scale, the top paid Counter Strike team in the world currently are paid $17,000 per month, before any added prize money, sticker deals or endorsements.
You can watch Richard discuss the salary scale at around the 7 minute mark in the video, whilst on the subject of the ex-Dignitas team and their move to FC Copenhagen.
